¶ Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI): Staff and Students
VDI will give you a single point of access to all apps (banner, office365, Myusek, Sierra, Dolphin, etc…).
VDI can be accessed anywhere, anytime and on any device using USEK account and password.
Log on using any of the following methods:
URLs:
https://desktop.usek.edu.lb //From outside Campus
https://vdi.usek.edu.lb/desktop //On Campus
Citrix Workspace App
¶ 1st Method : VDI through Web Browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Chrome, etc.)
Citrix Receiver is required on the user device and it can be downloaded from Citrix Website (www.citrix.com)
- Login using USEK Account and password:
- Click on Desktop on the top of the page:
- Choose your VDI desktop and wait for it to launch in a different window:
¶ 2nd method: VDI through Citrix Workspace App
- Go to https://www.citrix.com/downloads/workspace-app/ and select the latest version, click download and follow the installation prompts.
It can also be downloaded from AppStore of mobile devices.
Now that you are ready to start getting work done your way

Enter Workspace URL and click Add.
Outside campus:https://desktop.usek.edu.lb
On campus:https://vdi.usek.edu.lb -
On the final screen, type USEK account and password
To launch Citrix workspace App:

Look for the blue badge icon in the bottom right corner and click on it:

Login using your USEK Account and password:
¶ Banner Access from VDI:
To access Banner from VDI, kindly follow below steps:
- Go to Search and type Java.
- Go to configure Java and click on Security tab
- In the Exception Site List, click the Edit Site List button. Within it, click the Add button (see below pics)
- Finally, click in the empty field under the Location field and enter the following URL:
http://banapp01.usek.edu.lb:8888/forms/firmservlet?config=sisbanner_prod
Now that your environment is properly configured, go to Myusek and click on Banner Production.
