¶ Microsoft 2 factor authentication
- To provide a more secure environment for our community, we should follow the best practices while logging onto our USEK microsoft related appliactions (office365)
- To do so, we implemented 2 factor authentication on all USEK IDs/usernames.
¶ What is 2 factor authentication?
- Two-factor identification works by using two unrelated authentication methods to secure an account.
- The second authentication method usually needs to be verified with something in your personal possession such as your phone, in addition to your normal username and password
¶ Guide
While logging onto your microsoft outlook account you will be asked to follow the following steps:
- Click Next
- Enter your phone number
- Choose one of either text me a code or call me
- We will proceed with a text me a code in our example
- an SMS holding the code will be sent to you
- click Next
And you are done!
